4 Key Truths about Purpose

The quest for purpose is a universal human experience,

But often fraught with confusion and uncertainty.

Embracing these 4 key truths can guide us toward a more fulfilling life:

1/ You don't need society's approval to find your purpose

We’re conditioned to seek external validation and follow society's expectations. But fulfilling Purpose is not about meeting other people’s standards. Instead, it's about exploring your unique talents and gifts and expressing them authentically. This requires courage, self-awareness, and a willingness to step outside your comfort zone.

I love Maya Angelou’s reminder: "You alone are enough. You have nothing to prove to anybody."

2/ Your purpose is not static but dynamic

As you grow and evolve, your purpose will shift and change. It's a natural part of the journey and should be welcomed rather than feared. Embrace the changes, because they're leading you toward your highest potential. By allowing your purpose to evolve, you'll be open to new experiences that can help uncover your fullest expression.

3/ Your purpose isn't limited to your career

Society often ties purpose to our job or career, but your purpose can be expressed in any aspect of your life that brings you joy and fulfillment. Whether through volunteering, creative pursuits, or personal growth, find what deeply resonates and follow the path. When you pursue what makes you feel alive, you're living on purpose.

4/ Only you can fully understand your purpose

Your purpose is unique to you, and no one will understand it as you do. Others may have their own opinions and beliefs about what your purpose should be, but ultimately, only you will know. Have confidence in your path, even when others may not understand or agree.

I like how Steve Jobs framed it, "Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
